Renovation quotes & project preparation
This Privacy Policy describes how My Habitat ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the My Habitat mobile application (the "App"). My Habitat helps you prepare and track home renovation projects: recording the project details, choosing products from a catalog, defining payment and financing terms, and generating PDF documents such as the order form and the pre-contractual information document (DIP).
Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you have any questions, refer to the Contact section below.
My Habitat is published by Arociel ([full legal entity name and registration number — to be completed]), a company registered in France.
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"), Arociel acts as the data controller for the personal data processed through the App.
For any question about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at the address listed in the Contact section.
We collect only the data that is necessary for the App to function and for you to prepare and track your renovation projects.

When configured, product entries in the catalog may include a photo. These images are used solely to illustrate catalog items and are captured or chosen only when you actively select a photo from your library or take one with the camera.
To keep the App stable, we use Sentry to collect technical error and crash reports. These reports may include the device model, operating system version, App version, and the technical context of an error. They are used for diagnostics only and are not used to identify you commercially.
We use the collected data exclusively for the following purposes:
We do not use your data for advertising, commercial profiling, or sale to third parties.
For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), processing is based on the following legal grounds under Article 6 GDPR:
| Processing activity | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Account creation, authentication and session management | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Project, beneficiary, cart and settlement data | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Synchronization and backup of your data | Performance of a contract / legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f)) |
| Crash reports and diagnostics | Legitimate interests — application stability and security (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Biometric authentication | Explicit consent, processed locally on device (Art. 9(2)(a)) — see Section 9 |
My Habitat is designed to work offline. Your data is stored in an on-device database (SQLite) so that projects, catalog and settings remain available without a connection.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
The App communicates with servers operated by or on behalf of Arociel to authenticate you and synchronize your data. These servers are used solely to provide the service described in this policy.
We use Sentry, a service provided by Functional Software, Inc., to collect crash and error reports. Sentry acts as a sub-processor and processes the technical data described in Section 2.5. This data may be processed outside the EEA (including the United States); appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. When you download or update the App, Apple and Google process data according to their own privacy policies, over which we have no control.
We may disclose data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, but cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App offers optional biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition) as a convenient and secure alternative to entering your password each time.
The App may request the following device permissions, only when needed for a feature you use:
| Permission | Why it is requested |
|---|---|
| Camera & Photo library | To add a profile photo or a catalog product photo, only when you choose to |
| Network access | To synchronize your data and detect when you are offline |
| Biometric sensor | To unlock the App with Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint (optional) — see Section 9 |
You can grant or deny these permissions at any time in your device's system settings. Denying camera or photo access only prevents you from adding photos; the rest of the App continues to work.
Depending on your location and applicable law (including GDPR for EEA residents), you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Request deletion of your data where no legitimate ground exists for retention.
Request that processing be restricted in certain circumstances.
Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
EEA residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their national data protection supervisory authority. In France, this is the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
My Habitat is intended for use by adults preparing renovation projects. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 15 (the digital age of consent in France). If you believe a minor has provided data through the App, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our data practices. When we do, we will:
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
